Insurance:
Has limited coverage for services acupuncturist provide. That means you do not have access to all services and can only have limited acupuncture for certain conditions which are deemed medically necessary by your insurance.
You can pay out of pocket for other services, or conditions.
Insurance does not pay for you to relax.
Insurance pays for one condition at a time, and often it is only for chronic pain (pain that has been brewing for 3 months of more).
You will have to pay for your deductible, co-insurance and co-pays.
Insurance usually does not have hospital coverage for acupuncture.
- Your plan will state outpatient only (that means in a clinic),
- Not a hospital and not a house-call- both of which are much more expensive than seeing an acupuncturist in an office. Or, not offered at all.
